| The training conference that is scheduled for the first week in July 2007 is design to provide immersive applications of the technologies covered. The major 2 areas include Rapid Prototyping or Collaborative Design. There will be some training in parametric design tools that will be provided to insure that all participants can be successful during the week. The weeklong event will combine some pedagogical overview but is primarily an applied training event. In rapid prototyping participants will learn and apply several prototype processes and assist the collaborative design group in creating prototypes of the designs. The Collaborative Design Network group will spend the week applying a design task coordinating how design is done through a remote set of partners. This task can then be applied as a curriculum module in an existing design class using the design network of other programs and equipment available at www.designcollaborative.org. Having experienced the process and issues involved with a remote collaborative design, the faculty member can speak from experience in how to resolve the communication barriers and importance of have a clear message in written, verbal and drawn communications. Near the end of the week the rapid prototype group will assist in creating prototype models of the designs that were developed over the Multi-Day event. Please Click
